The credit card has changed the shape of shopping in today’s world. The only thing is, now that I have cancelled my American Express credit card, I’ve lost access to so many things. No, I wasn’t even able to hire a Hertz rental car, or buy tickets for a plane trip to Baltimore over the internet. The old days of cash as the preferred method of doing obtaining goods have gone.

We never stop to ask ourselves when using our American Express credit card globally whether or not we need or can afford what we are buying it has become so commonplace. How many people consider the cost of paying later when they have the convenience of having now, when using their American Express credit card. Money owed to credit card companies is increasing everywhere. In America it is true to say that credit card debt is probably one of the biggest problems facing us.

That is one of the main reasons why I had to cancel my American Express credit card in the first place. The problem was it was too easy just hand over my card and buy things without seeing the money being spent. I would charge everything and anything on it, and soon the costs would spiral out of control. The debt became too great for me to pay and I didn’t know what to do.

I actually had to go through a debt refinancing service to get my credit card debt into some kind of shape where I could hope to pay it. It was like being in a living nightmare. Now, I have gotten my debt paid off and cancelled my American Express credit card. Most people that have never been in this situation will think I am making excuses blaming the credit card but they are missing something important about people.

When I had to pay with everything in cash, I would know just what I had at any given time. As I said before, credit cards make the cost of things misleading because you don’t take any notice. I would spend money on everything, almost like a person possessed but before long, there wasn’t anything left. So remember, if you don’t have an American Express card, you don’t have any worries.
